Meet the San Jose Team

San Jose Chiropractor Dr. Jessie Young
San Jose Chiropractor Dr. Jessie Young

Hello, my name is Dr. Jessie Young. I am excited to be sharing the office with Dr. Paige and her team as I begin to build my own practice. I have enjoyed living in San Jose for the past three years while earning my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic West. Before starting chiropractic school, I earned my undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Central Oklahoma.

My love for chiropractic was found after receiving a whiplash injury from a fall during cheerleading. My doctor was able to restore my range of motion and rehabilitate my neck, allowing me to quickly return to my sport.

In 2006 I had TMJ surgery. When I started chiropractic school a doctor began treating my TMJ and had amazing results taking away the pain and clicking that the surgery was unable to fix. I have since found a passion for treating conditions of the TMJ as a chiropractor.

While attending Palmer West I started treating many different types of patients including children, pregnant women, athletes and the aging. In 2009, I completed advanced training in Pediatric Chiropractic and have been able to use my training to help children as young as 1 week old.

My husband and I are very excited to call San Jose our home and look forward to becoming active members of the community. We love spending time outdoors, hiking with our son and dog. The Bay Area is the perfect place to pursue our interests with all of the wonderful parks and trails close by. We are excited to be living in such an active city where the people are passionate about their health and wellness.

I would like to invite you to visit my website, www.YoungSpines.com to learn more about me and my practice. I look forward to working in the office with Dr. Paige and her team.

Chiropractic Assistant

Introducing Dawn Paige

My name is Dawn Paige!   I have had the pleasure of meeting some of you at the office already and I look forward to meeting the rest of you.  I will be coming to work for Dr. Jessica full time in the next few months as I transition from my current job.  We apologize for any inconveniences that arise while this transition is going on.

Just to tell you a little about myself...

I’ve played soccer since I was 5 years old. I played on Olympic Development and State Teams. Played throughout high school and a little in college and I am currently still getting my kicks in when I can. I think back to when I started playing soccer and I wish I had known about chiropractic care. I have been under chiropractic care for over a year now and it is amazing how much better I feel.  I came in with neck pain, back pain, headaches, and wrist pain. Now that I have been seeing Dr. Jessica on a regular basis, I no long have the discomforts that I once had. Chiropractic care especially helps when I start to feel that cold coming on. I go get adjusted, take my immune support and drink my water and then I’m on my way to a healthier me. Chiropractic Care is AMAZING!

Massage Therapy

Long-standing spinal problems are accompanied by ingrained muscle patterns. Muscle spasms and scar tissue are often involved. By augmenting your chiropractic care with massage therapy, these muscle and soft tissue problems can be addressed. This can help speed your recovery and enhance the retraining of your spine.

Introducing Wendy Merklinghaus

Wendy Merklinghaus

My interest in massage began with “squishing” my mom’s feet and rubbing her head when I was barely tall enough to reach her head while she was seated. I always seemed to have a good touch. I started to follow that gift in 1992 and went to massage school.  I got serious about doing massage in 2007 when I started doing body-work full-time.

I have training in Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, Reiki, chair massage, Shiatsu, cross fiber & longitudinal release, aromatherapy and hot stone massage.

My personal method is to pull on whatever technique will best serve the person lying on my massage table or sitting in my massage chair at that moment.

My greatest joy is being the very blessed mom of a delightful 7-yr old.

Dr. Jessica Asks some important questions of interest to San Jose residents - Chiropractor San Jose Dr. Jessica Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
